What is included in the Dharamshala 5 Nights / 6 Days package?
Our Dharamshala package typically includes accommodation for 5 nights, daily breakfast (and sometimes dinner depending on the plan), sightseeing as per itinerary, private transport for all transfers and tours, and all necessary driver charges, tolls, and parking.
Which places will we visit during the trip?
The itinerary covers all major attractions: local Dharamshala sightseeing (including the War Memorial and Dal Lake), McLeod Ganj, the Namgyal Monastery, Bhagsu Waterfall, and a scenic drive to nearby spots like Palampur and Kangra Valley, depending on the variant of the tour.
Are meals included in the package?
Yes — breakfast is included for all days. Depending on the package variant, dinner may also be included (“MAP” / “half-board” option). Any lunches or extra meals not mentioned will be at your own expense.
How do we reach Dharamshala and what about local transport?
You can reach Dharamshala via road (by cab or bus) or via the nearest railway station / airport. For local sightseeing during the trip, a private vehicle is provided as per the itinerary so you don’t have to worry about hiring transport locally.
Is there any flexibility to customize the itinerary?
Yes, Take A Break offers customizable tours — you can adjust the stay duration, add or remove sightseeing places, or change meal plans. Just reach out to us with your preferences, and we’ll tailor a plan for you.
What is the cancellation and payment policy?
For most Take A Break tours, a partial advance payment is required to confirm the booking, and the balance is payable later. Cancellation policies vary based on how far in advance you cancel; please refer to your booking confirmation or contact us for the exact terms.
Is travel insurance needed / recommended?
While not mandatory, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. It can cover unforeseen medical emergencies, trip cancellations, or mishaps on the road — especially when traveling in the mountains.
What is the best time to book this trip?
The ideal time to visit Dharamshala is during the spring (April–June) and early autumn (September–October) when the weather is pleasant. However, it depends on your preferences — if you like snow, winter months are also good.
Are there any optional activities I can add?
Yes, you can add optional experiences like short treks (e.g. Triund), meditation / cultural visits at Norbulingka Institute, or even local food tours. Let us know your interests, and we can build them into your itinerary.
